Honestly, I’m not trying to be negative. Programming is hard. We’re all in this together, I know.
But Microsoft: this is why I don’t like to install Windows Updates. It inevitable breaks things.
And BSOD errors are no fun.
I’ve been running into this problem the last few weeks with one of my Windows 10 development virtual machines. Trying to test a web page, suddenly my VM would blue screen. It was happening once a day for me, it seems like for some developers it has been a complete showstopper.
Apparently, disabling HTTP/2 should solve it, which I’ve just done. We’ll see. I hope so.
This is why Windows Updates are so terrifying. Yes we know that security is important. But system stability is important too. Really important. More important than new widgets or rounded corner or whatever random new “feature” you are pushing out. Please, just fix things, and secure things, and try to do no harm. That’s all I ask.
